Bastrop fire
The fire which grew quickly in Tuesdays windy conditions has burned. Three separate fires started on September 4 2011 as a result of strong winds caused by nearby Tropical Storm Lee and merged into one large blaze that burned east of the city of Bastrop.

The Lost Pines Ablaze. A 150-acre prescribed burn in Bastrop County State Park initiated by the Texas parks department at 1030 am. The fire is more than 600 acres in size and has resulted in a number of homes being evacuated in the immediate area.
